Fran García-Huidobro addressed the recent departure of her ex-partner, Julio César Rodríguez, from Chilevisión, admitting the news hit her both professionally and personally. The announcement of Rodríguez’s exit, where he held roles as both a host and programming director, sent ripples through the Chilean television industry.
García-Huidobro, who recently joined the network, shared her reaction on her Instagram account, explaining she had been intentionally keeping quiet amid a flood of inquiries. “I was missing, voluntarily,” she said, responding to “infinitesimal calls and messages” about JC’s resignation.
“I didn’t sense like talking, and when I don’t feel like talking, I don’t answer. I exercise my right to remain silent,” she stated.
However, she ultimately decided to address the situation, explaining, “Of course the resignation affected me, it affected me professionally and personally, it’s quite obvious why. I was invited to a project in which Julio was involved, and that was part of the decision to accept that project at the time.”
“And of course, now that part of the project, which is very important to me, is no longer there. I know the reasons, I’ve discussed it with him privately, of course, because our relationship is much more than a job or a television channel. Our relationship is eternal and will be eternal,” she added.
Despite the change, García-Huidobro emphasized that any private conversations with Rodríguez would remain confidential. “Whatever I may have said to Julio will remain private, and whatever he may have said to me will also remain private, as always, because that’s how it works for us, that’s how we’ve remained strong as parents too.”
Francisca García-Huidobro Will Remain at CHV
García-Huidobro also clarified that Rodríguez’s departure would not lead to her leaving Chilevisión, the network she joined after leaving Mega.
“That’s how television is, that’s how it works. Last year, my boss was changed after four months too. It happens in television when a channel is bought, and pieces are moved. If I thought that piece was going to move, no, of course not. But in the given scenario, I wish Julito all the best wherever he goes. Congratulations to whoever takes him, because he is a person who knows a lot about television, he is a tremendous boss, a tremendous leader,” she said.
“As for me, I will continue working. I have a two-year contract with Chilevisión and I already have a lot of work. So, I will continue working,” she concluded.
