Free Diabetes Screening Events to be Held on March 21st
Free diabetes screenings will be available to the public on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at two locations in France. The screenings are part of an annual effort to raise awareness about diabetes, a leading chronic disease and to identify individuals who may be at risk.
The Lions Club Val-Mont en Bourgogne is organizing the events for the ninth consecutive year. Screenings will take place from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Leclerc du Breuil shopping center and the Intermarché in Le Creusot. This is the third year the screenings will be held at both locations simultaneously.
Last year, 784 people were screened at these locations, with 36 individuals receiving results that were considered “out of norms” and were advised to consult with their doctor. These numbers highlight the importance of early detection and preventative measures for diabetes.
The Lions Clubs International has designated the fight against diabetes as a priority, recognizing it as one of the major health challenges of the 21st century. The screenings aim to inform the public about the risks of diabetes, prevention strategies, and the importance of seeking medical care if symptoms are present.
In addition to the screenings in Le Creusot, a similar event will be held on March 21st in Saint Jean d’Angély, offering diabetes testing with a team of three nurses and a doctor. More details about this event can be found here.
Diabetes is a significant public health concern, and early detection is crucial for managing the condition and preventing complications. These free screening events provide a valuable opportunity for individuals to assess their risk and take proactive steps towards maintaining their health.
