Cardiovascular diseases claim the lives of 140,000 people annually in France, making them a leading cause of death. To combat these widespread health issues, a mobile clinic called “DiagnostiCoeur” is traveling throughout the northwest of the country, offering free cardiovascular screenings. The initiative, organized by the Cotentin Agglomeration, Medtronic, and the Alliance du Coeur, aims to improve early detection and access to care.

Free Cardiovascular Screenings Available in the Cotentin Peninsula

The “DiagnostiCoeur” mobile unit will be located in Saint-Pierre-Eglise on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the parking lot of the Maison du Cotentin. This location also hosts consultations from the Médicobus mobile medical service, providing a convenient hub for healthcare access. A dedicated space will be set up inside the building for the health team.

The screenings, available to all, will provide a comprehensive cardiovascular assessment conducted by cardiologists and nurses. This includes a medical interview, blood pressure measurement, electrocardiogram, and additional examinations, culminating in a personalized health report.

The service is particularly aimed at individuals without a primary care physician, those with risk factors such as fatigue or shortness of breath, or anyone seeking a general check-up of their cardiovascular health. Early detection of cardiovascular issues is crucial for effective management and improved patient outcomes, and this initiative seeks to address disparities in access to preventative care.

The program is a collaborative effort involving the University Hospital Centers (CHU) of Brest and Caen, the University Hospital Center (CHRU) of Tours, and local hospitals and CPTS (Community Health Territories).
