Individuals with risk factors for kidney disease are invited to a free screening and prevention event this Thursday, March 12, from 10 a.m. To 4 p.m. At Saint Joseph Saint Luc Hospital. Early detection is crucial, as kidney disease often progresses without noticeable symptoms, impacting millions worldwide.

6 Million French Citizens Affected

Nearly 6 million people in France are affected by kidney failure, often in its early stages when symptoms are absent, according to reports. The event, organized in conjunction with National Kidney Week and the France Rein association, aims to raise awareness and provide accessible testing.

Healthcare professionals at the hospital – including doctors, therapeutic education nurses, and dietitians – will offer a series of free tests to participants. These include blood pressure checks, blood analysis to measure creatinine levels, and urine tests to check for the presence of albumin.

The quick and simple screening process takes approximately 15 minutes. Results will be explained on-site, and attendees will receive guidance on appropriate medical care if needed. The event is open to the public and will be held in the meeting rooms on the ground floor of the hospital. Individuals with diabetes, hypertension, obesity, or a family history of kidney disease are particularly encouraged to attend.
