Pro-Palestinian demonstrations have become a regular occurrence in a Swiss city, raising questions about the frequency and location of the gatherings.

The Collective Urgency Palestine (CUP) has been holding rallies every Tuesday evening in front of the Escalade Fountain, at the entrance to the Lower Streets, since the outbreak of the war in Gaza in October 2023. Initially held daily at the start of the offensive, the protests have settled into a weekly schedule.

The continued demonstrations reflect ongoing concern over the conflict, and highlight the sustained activism surrounding the issue. The CUP’s consistent presence aims to maintain the situation in Gaza in the public eye.
