Fujifilm Launches Advanced X-Ray Innovations Tailored for Thai Healthcare Needs
Even with the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, hardware remains crucial in medical imaging. Fujifilm has introduced two flagship innovations designed to address the specific challenges faced by healthcare facilities in Thailand: the ‘FDR Visionary Suite,’ a digital X-ray system engineered for easy access in confined spaces and alongside adjacent patient beds, and the ‘FDR Go iQ,’ a powerful mobile X-ray machine for emergency departments. These advancements arrive as healthcare systems worldwide seek to improve diagnostic capabilities and patient care. Fujifilm also offers an ultra-portable X-ray system capable of being carried to remote areas for proactive tuberculosis screening, with all innovations prioritizing low-dose radiation and utilizing AI to enhance image clarity for maximum patient safety.
Ratchakrit Temboonsuk, Head of Medical & Healthcare Business, responsible for X-ray and IT systems at Fujifilm (Thailand) Co., Ltd., explained that “FDR Visionary Suite is a high-end digital X-ray system delivering sharp images with Fujifilm’s unique Irradiated Side Sampling (ISS) technology. The upgraded model features a Live view camera that enhances patient care and reduces examination risks. Motion Detection and Last Image View from the live feed facilitate minimize retakes, although AI-powered automatic positioning for chest imaging improves accuracy and efficiency for radiology departments with high patient volumes.” He added that this technology helps reduce repeat imaging, shorten examination times, and create a better experience for patients who may be in pain or anxious.
The Future of Thai Public Health: Multimodal AI
Fujifilm’s next step is the development of multimodal diagnostic AI, integrating data from radiological images, pathology, and genetics. The integration of these data types represents a significant advancement in diagnostic capabilities. Amidst fierce competition, Fujifilm maintains a competitive edge through its stability and global research centers, targeting 15% growth this year while committing to building a culture of early detection in Thailand to reduce hospital overcrowding and ensure equitable access to quality healthcare for all Thais.
So Maruo, Managing Director of Fujifilm (Thailand) Co., Ltd., stated, “Fujifilm remains dedicated to elevating Thailand’s public health system through cutting-edge innovations, AI-driven solutions, and collaboration with healthcare professionals at all levels. By integrating AI into every stage of patient care—from imaging to diagnosis and workflow management—Fujifilm aims to create a healthcare system that improves access to quality care, reduces the burden on medical personnel, and allows physicians to focus on providing optimal patient care.” He emphasized that this commitment aligns with the company’s purpose of ‘bringing a smile to the world.’
