The disappearance of 25-year-old Michelle H. From Celle, Lower Saxony, has prompted a police investigation, with authorities now considering a possible homicide. The case, which began unfolding on the evening of March 11th, centers around a reported injury and a subsequent search that has so far yielded no definitive answers.
The initial report came from a 46-year-old man who alerted authorities, stating that Michelle H. Had left her apartment around 3:30 AM with a neck wound. This detail immediately raised concerns and initiated a large-scale search effort.
Blood Trail Leads to River
Police discovered a kitchen knife at Michelle H.’s residence that appeared to be stained with blood, according to prosecutor Stefanie Vogler. A trail of blood, extending over 150 meters, was found leading from the building towards the banks of the Aller River. Despite an extensive search involving canine units, divers and sonar technology, investigators have yet to locate Michelle H. Or any further evidence.
On Wednesday, authorities opened an investigation into the 46-year-old man who initially reported Michelle H.’s disappearance, suspecting him of involuntary manslaughter. However, he remains a person of interest and has not been taken into custody, as “the evidence is insufficient to proceed with an arrest,” the prosecutor stated. “We don’t even know yet if a crime has been committed.”
A missing person notice and public appeal for information have been issued, but police report a low number of leads since the initial announcement on Wednesday. “Since the publication of the first missing person notice last Wednesday, the number of reports has remained very low,” a Celle police spokesperson told Bild. The case remains a perplexing mystery.
