Goldie Hawn, an Academy Award winner for her role in 1970’s “Cactus Flower,” radiated joy at this year’s Oscars, even without a nomination herself. The actress, who turned 77 earlier this year, looked stunning in a sleek black dress, but her energy and happiness were the real highlights of the evening.
A Proud Mom
This year’s ceremony held special significance for Hawn, as her daughter, actress Kate Hudson, was nominated for Best Actress for her performance in “Music.” “I’ve walked the red carpet many times in my life, but I’ve never felt as good as I do today,” Hawn shared on social media. “I was holding the hand of my own child, who is so talented, kind, and beautiful, and yet I still saw that little seven-year-ancient girl with sparkling eyes dreaming of exactly what she’s experiencing now.”
Hawn’s happiness was palpable throughout the night. She was accompanied not only by her daughter but also by her longtime partner, actor Kurt Russell. The couple, together for over four decades, appeared as smitten as ever, holding hands and beaming with pride over Hudson’s achievement.
While Russell isn’t Hudson’s biological father – nor is he the father of her older brother, Oliver – he has been a father figure to both of them since they were young, and they affectionately refer to him as “Dad.” The same familial bond extends to Wyatt Russell, Hawn’s youngest son with Russell.
