Golkar Mourns Death of Akbar Tandjung’s Daughter, Karmia Krissanty

JAKARTA – The Golkar Party is in mourning following the death of Karmia Krissanty Tandjung Nasution, the daughter of former party chairman Akbar Tandjung, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. The news marks a loss for one of Indonesia’s prominent political families.

Karmia passed away at 8:58 a.m. Local time, according to a statement released by her father via social media. She was laid to rest later that day at the Tanah Kusir Public Cemetery.

Secretary-General of the Golkar Party, M Sarmuji, confirmed the passing and described Karmia as a resilient individual who fought tirelessly for her health. “We, the extended family of the Golkar Party, deeply mourn her loss. Mbak Karmia was a strong woman who fought until the incredibly end for her recovery,” Sarmuji said.

Sarmuji also expressed hope that God would accept Karmia’s good deeds. “May Allah accept all her good deeds and return her to His paradise,” he added.

In a statement posted online, Akbar Tandjung asked for forgiveness for his daughter’s shortcomings and requested prayers for her peaceful rest. “Please forgive all the mistakes and shortcomings of the deceased during her life. May her good deeds be accepted by Allah SWT. We ask for your prayers so that the deceased may find the best place by His side,” Tandjung wrote.
