Google’s Gemini Now Composes Original Music with Realistic Vocals

Google has expanded the capabilities of its Gemini artificial intelligence model to include music composition, allowing users to generate songs with realistic vocals in a variety of styles. The new feature, dubbed Lyria 3, is integrated directly into the Gemini application, according to a blog post from Google.

The development marks a significant step forward for AI-powered content creation, following Gemini’s earlier advancements in image and video generation. This expansion into music underscores the growing potential of AI to democratize creative tools and empower users with limited musical experience.

Users can prompt Gemini to create songs in specific genres and styles and the AI will generate both the instrumental track and accompanying vocals. The technology aims to create music creation accessible to a wider audience.

The launch of Lyria 3 has already garnered attention from industry analysts. Jefferies has reiterated its ‘buy’ recommendation for Spotify following the announcement, according to Investing.com France.

Google’s move places it in direct competition with Apple in the emerging field of AI-generated music, as reported by ZDNET. The competition is expected to drive further innovation in the space.

The Euro Stoxx 50 index was at 6,055.84 as of 11:05 am CET on February 19, 2026, down 0.78%, according to Investing.com. The index has seen a 52-week change of 10.89% and a year-to-date change of 3.51%.
