Google is preparing to announce its new Pixel 10a smartphone on February 18, but new leaked images have surfaced ahead of the official reveal, offering a clearer look at the phone’s design and key features. Despite expectations not being particularly high for this iteration, the new details may shift initial impressions.

Familiar Design with a Different Touch

Leaked images from a well-known source show the phone in four expected colors: Berry (a bold, light red), Fog (a greenish-gray), Lavender (a blue-purple), and Black.

The most notable design change is that the rear cameras are now completely flush with the back of the phone, a departure from the raised bump seen in the previous model. This adjustment may provide better protection for the lenses and improve the device’s overall appearance.

The “Berry” color, in particular, is drawing attention for its bold and unique look, and could be a key selling point, similar to some recent iPhone color options.

Expected Specs Without a Major Leap

According to reports, the Pixel 10a will largely rely on the specifications of the Pixel 9a, including:

1. A 6.3-inch display.
2. A 48-megapixel + 13-megapixel main camera.
3. At least 8GB of RAM.
4. Storage starting at 128GB.
5. A 5100 mAh battery.
6. A screen brightness that could reach up to 2000 nits.

Surprisingly, the phone may not receive the new Tensor G5 processor found in the Pixel 10, but will instead run on the same Tensor G4 chip as the Pixel 9a, with a possible slight performance improvement through increased clock speed.

Regarding price, leaks suggest a starting price of $499, while other sources predict a lower price point. However, with ongoing supply chain issues and rising component costs, the final price remains uncertain.

Is the A Series Still as Powerful?

The Pixel A series has long been known for offering excellent value for money, but with diminishing differences between it and previous generations, and the lack of the latest processor, some are questioning whether the series has become a secondary option for Google.

If Google doesn’t deliver substantial improvements, users may find that a discounted Pixel 9a or competing mid-range phones offer a better deal. The continued evolution of the A-series reflects Google’s strategy to cater to a wider range of consumers in a competitive smartphone market.

Sales of the Pixel 10a are expected to begin during the first week of March, following the official announcement on February 18.
