Google is enhancing the Google Play experience with new features designed to give users more confidence when purchasing games. The company recently announced the introduction of “Game Trials” to its platform.

Game Trials will allow users to try out paid games for a limited time before committing to a purchase. If a user enjoys the trial and decides to buy the full game, their progress will be saved, allowing them to continue playing seamlessly. A “Try” button will appear on the game’s page in the Play Store for compatible titles.

Alongside Game Trials, Google Play is also implementing a “Buy once, play anywhere” model. This will enable users to purchase a game once and play it on multiple devices, including smartphones and PCs. The feature is initially rolling out with select premium games, such as titles in the Reigns series, OTTTD and Dungeon Clawler.

Google also plans to expand its library of paid games, recognizing a demand for more options beyond the prevalent free-to-play titles. This move comes as Google aims to offer a more diverse selection of games, addressing concerns that some free-to-play games don’t always deliver on their promises.

a new PC section is being added to the Games tab within the Play Store, providing a dedicated hub for titles optimized for Windows PCs. Users will also have the ability to add games to a wishlist and receive notifications when they go on sale. The updates signal Google’s commitment to providing a more comprehensive and user-friendly gaming experience across its platforms.
