Grêmio Preparing for Another Major Windfall from Youth Academy. According to Transfermarkt, Gabriel Mec (Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil; 2008) has become the most valuable Under-19 player in the entire Brasileirão, with an estimated valuation of €12 million. The 17-year-old is already drawing comparisons to legends like Ronaldinho and rising star Estêvão as Grêmio anticipates a bright future for their young prospect.
Grêmio has placed a high level of faith in the midfielder from Campos dos Goytacazes. It’s been some time since a youth product has generated as much excitement as Mec, dating back to the emergence of Arthur, who has served as a mentor and protector within the team for nearly a decade. Last season, he became the youngest debutant in the club’s history (16 years and 292 days), surpassing even ‘Ronie’ (17 years and 344 days), and his contributions have continued to grow. He played a key role in securing the Campeonato Gaúcho title, providing an assist in the final group stage match against Guarany de Bagé.
Recently renewed through June 2027, Grêmio is carefully nurturing Mec’s development, aiming for a full breakout this season. The club is implementing a specific plan to improve his physical conditioning, recognizing it as a key area for maximizing his potential as European clubs closely monitor his progress.

Grêmio is holding firm against potential offers, with a release clause of €100 million. Several inquiries arrived last summer, particularly from Premier League clubs, but the club is seeking a minimum of €15 million to even commence negotiations.
Other Rising Stars
Vitor Roque is the biggest winner for Transfermarkt. ‘Tigrinho’ has started the season strongly, maintaining his level at Palmeiras and becoming almost indispensable to Abel Ferreira. His new valuation has risen to €38 million, just €2 million shy of his personal best (€40 million) from his time at Barcelona. A significant sale is anticipated this summer for Verdão.

Both players are expected to generate significant revenue for Timão in the near future, with interest already mounting.
