BRISKEBY (HA): HamKam has unveiled an ambitious recent plan, setting its sights on a significant leap forward in Norwegian football. The club aims to surpass its current records and is openly discussing a potential push for European competition.

Styreleder Tom Haakonsen outlined the club’s vision, stating, “Now we’re not just going to talk about surviving. Now we have to dare to appear ahead and say that we will invest.”

Sporting director Jørgen Bjørn and his team have set a target of gaining five more points each season. This incremental improvement, they believe, could observe HamKam challenging for a spot in Europe by 2028, a campaign they’re branding “Towards Europe with feet on the ground.”

A key component of this strategy involves player sales. Ethan Amundsen-Day, 20, has emerged as a potential high-value asset for the club.

“Everything starts with performance on the pitch, and then we have to polish some loving relationships,” said Daglig leder Eskil Ervik.

HamKam’s path to Europe is ambitious, but the club is determined to build significant strides in the coming seasons. The focus on consistent improvement and strategic player development signals a new era for the club.

Meanwhile, Julian Gonstad, a rising star for Hamkam, continues to make waves. The 19-year-old striker, currently on loan to Raufoss IL, has quickly made an impact, scoring immediately after joining the team and netting a decisive goal in an away victory over Odd. Gonstad, who also had a loan spell with Eidsvold Turn, penned a long-term contract with Hamkam in May 2025 amid reported interest from other clubs.

Gonstad’s first Eliteserien goal, a penalty against Viking in April 2025, came in a match HamKam ultimately lost 2–5. He has been a prolific scorer throughout his youth career, representing Norway at various youth levels, including U15, U16, U17, U18, and U19. As of December 1, 2025, Gonstad has made 51 appearances for HamKam, scoring 40 goals. His recent loan to Raufoss suggests the club is keen to provide him with regular playing time to further develop his potential.

The club’s progress will be closely watched as they navigate the challenges of balancing immediate results with long-term development. HamKam’s commitment to improvement and its focus on youth talent position it for an exciting future.
