Hilary Duff has revealed a strained relationship with her sister, Haylie Duff, admitting they haven’t been in contact for a significant period.
The 38-year-old actress and singer, currently promoting her new album Luck… or Something, recently opened up about the distance between herself and Haylie, 39, during an interview with the Swedish publication GP. She stated, “I haven’t spoken to my sister in a really long time.”
Duff, who is a mother of four, explained that the lack of communication stems from a feeling of being pulled in different directions and a need to focus on her own life. She shared that she’s been prioritizing her family and creative pursuits, including the release of her first album in over a decade.
“I think that part of my wanting to make a record was coming out of having my fourth child,” Duff told the L.A. Times, adding, “I love motherhood, obviously, but I think I felt really jealous that [Matthew] got to go to work every day and just be alone with his thoughts.”
The actress also discussed the importance of reclaiming her identity outside of motherhood and her previous roles as a child star.
