The Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMAs) recognize outstanding achievement in music composition, songwriting, and music supervision for film, television, video games, and more. This year’s ceremony, the 16th annual event, will be held on November 19 at The Avalon in Hollywood and will be livestreamed globally for the first time via the Laurel Canyon Live app.
Nominees include Miley Cyrus for “Dream As One” from “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” Ed Sheeran for “Drive” and Don Toliver with Doja Cat for “Lose My Mind” both from “F1,” and Ariana Grande for “The Girl in the Bubble” from “Wicked: For Good.” The awards also recognize scores for animated, feature, sci-fi/fantasy, horror/thriller, and independent films, as well as television, video games, and commercials. A full list of nominees can be found on the official HMMA website.
The event will feature performances by A.R. Rahman, Diane Warren, Kesha, Aiyana-Lee, Jeff Beal, and Afghan pop star Aryana Sayeed, among others. The HMMAs are considered a significant bellwether for music in visual media, often foreshadowing trends and successes during awards season.
Winners will be announced during the November 19th ceremony, and organizers anticipate a global audience for the first-ever livestreamed event.
