HoverAir X1 ProMax: The Pocketable 8K Camera Drone Arrives

ZeroZero Robotics has released the HoverAir X1 ProMax, a compact and lightweight camera drone capable of shooting 8K video. The drone, designed for easy portability and hands-free operation, aims to redefine personal content creation with its automated flight modes and impressive tracking capabilities.

Weighing just 6.79 ounces, the X1 ProMax can be easily transported in a coat pocket or backpack, making it a convenient companion for travel and everyday adventures. The rise of compact, easy-to-use drones reflects a growing demand for accessible aerial photography, and videography.

The X1 ProMax boasts 10 intelligent flight modes and can automatically follow a subject at speeds up to 26 mph. It features a folding design and a protective cage for the propellers, enhancing its durability. According to testing, the drone maintains a stable connection and captures smooth footage even while the user is in motion, such as cycling.

“It’s game-changing that I can head out for a ride and capture high-quality drone shots totally hands-free, all by myself,” said Jakob Jewett, an athlete who has tested the device.

The X1 ProMax is virtually identical to the X1 Pro, with the primary difference being the X1 ProMax’s ability to record video in 8K resolution at 30fps, while the X1 Pro shoots 4K video at 60fps. Both models utilize a two-axis gimbal to ensure stable footage. The drones offer a streamlined experience, allowing users to quickly launch, select a shooting style, and capture footage with minimal effort.

However, the X1 Pro and X1 ProMax come with some drawbacks. They lack built-in GPS, have relatively short flight times, and are priced at a premium. The controller is also sold separately. The HoverAir X1 Pro and X1 ProMax give drones like the DJI Neo a run for their money, but at a cost.

The HoverAir X1 ProMax is currently available for purchase at HoverAir, Amazon, B&H, and Adorama, with prices starting at $599. The HoverAir X1 PRO & PROMAX are marketed as the fastest, strongest, and most intelligent flying cameras ever made.

Martin Kjellemar (@martinkjellemar) noted the drone’s wind resistance, stating, “It handles the wind like it’s nothing. I live in an area where the wind gets pretty bad and it has not had any issues navigating it.”

Meister_regmyster (@meister_regmyster) commented, “this drone has a lot of value. So much to offer and I can’t wait to utilize it for family and business events.”
