HP has updated its EliteBook lineup with a range of new laptops and desktops. The company introduced new EliteBook 6 models alongside the EliteBook G2q, and is replacing the EliteBook 8 G1 series, previously sold with AMD Strix Point, Intel Arrow Lake-U, and Intel Lunar Lake processors (currently available on Amazon for $2,039).
HP is currently providing limited details regarding the processors included in the EliteBook 8 G2a and EliteBook 8 G2i. The EliteBook 8 G2a is expected to utilize AMD’s Gorgon Point platform, offering minimal performance or efficiency gains over Strix Point. The EliteBook 8 G2i, conversely, is anticipated to feature Intel Panther Lake processors, with HP mentioning undefined Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra 7 SKUs. This refresh comes as manufacturers continue to integrate more powerful processors into their business-focused laptop lines, aiming to improve performance for demanding tasks.
