Comedians across the country are voicing their concerns as a vote approaches that could impact funding for public broadcasting. Marie-Thérèse Porchet, known for her alter ego of Joseph Gorgoni, has become the latest public figure to weigh in on the debate.

In a video shared Friday by the Union Romande de l’humour and circulating on Instagram, Porchet, sporting a fuchsia vest and matching lipstick, delivered a blunt message: “No, no, no!” She is urging voters to reject the “200 francs, that’s enough!” initiative, warning she’ll shave her head and transition to a male persona if it passes.

The upcoming vote will determine the future of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SSR). Several comedians, including Thomas Wiesel, Donatienne Amann, and Blaise Bersinger, have used their platforms – both on social media and during performances – to comment on the issue. The debate centers on the potential impact of budget cuts on the humor scene, which, like other forms of entertainment, relies on public service funding.
