Huntsville, Ontario Accepting Nominations for Annual Community Recognition Program

The Town of Huntsville is now accepting nominations for its annual Community Recognition Program, honoring individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the local area.

According to town officials, the program aims to acknowledge those who dedicate their time and resources to improving the quality of life for Huntsville residents. Nominations are open to a wide range of contributors, including not-for-profit organizations, volunteers, business owners, and even those who no longer reside in the town, provided their work directly benefits the community. Recognizing these efforts is crucial for fostering a strong and engaged citizenry.

“Each year, community members and organizations dedicate countless hours and resources to causes greater than themselves,” said Jacqueline Surette, Manager of Recreation, Culture, and Heritage. “These acts of service deserve to be acknowledged for the incredible impact they have on the quality of life of residents.” Officials emphasized that nominations can be submitted for actions of any size, as long as they demonstrably enhance the town or the lives of its residents. More information about community involvement can be found at Volunteer Canada.

The nomination period closes on October 30, and selected recipients will be formally recognized at the Town Council Meeting on November 24. Residents interested in nominating a deserving individual or group can find details about the process here.

Officials stated that they look forward to celebrating the positive impact of Huntsville’s community champions.
