Kasper Høgh is drawing comparisons to Erling Haaland after a sensational run of form for his club. The 25-year-old forward scored again on Wednesday, with the Danish national team manager in attendance.

Høgh has five goals and two assists in his last five Champions League matches after a slow start to the European campaign. The Danish national team manager, Brian Rimer, noted Høgh’s performance, stating to TV 2, “He is a player who has done well over a long period of time, and the fact that he has scored against such big opponents is something that resonates and that we must take seriously when we come to select the team.”

Høgh was unaware the national team manager was at the match but expressed his gratitude, saying, “I didn’t understand that, but it’s nice to hear. Those are big words, and I am very grateful. It would be a big dream for me. It is my biggest dream.”

His club coach, Kjetil Knutsen, also praised Høgh, highlighting his attacking instincts. “He takes a lot of initiative in the decisive moments. He has some Haaland-like movements. He never stands still, he pulls away to attack space,” Knutsen told TV 2. “There’s something about that boy. The way he works every single day. The way he contributes to the group. He has a wonderful energy, and is so eager to develop.”

Høgh scored the third goal in a 3-0 victory over Sporting on Wednesday, prompting commentator Øyvind Alsaker to exclaim, “There he is again, the delightful Dane! What has happened to Kasper Høgh? He’s tearing it up in the Champions League. Glimt leads 3-0 over Sporting!”
