Im Soo-jung Returns to Television After Five Years, Joins Ha Jung-woo in Fresh Drama
Actress Im Soo-jung is set to return to the modest screen after a five-year hiatus with the upcoming tvN drama, “Korean Landlord,” premiering March 14. She will star alongside Ha Jung-woo in the series, which promises suspense and family drama.
“Korean Landlord” centers on a financially struggling landlord who becomes entangled in a fake kidnapping plot to protect his family and property. Im Soo-jung will play Kim Sun, the strong-willed and pragmatic wife of Ha Jung-woo’s character, Ki Soo-jong.
Kim Sun is described as a “steel mother” who remains calm even in crisis. She previously worked as a nurse to support her daughter, who has a hearing impairment, and is now focused on securing her daughter’s future through education abroad. However, her family’s stability is threatened when Ki Soo-jong takes out a substantial loan to purchase a building.
As Kim Sun begins to suspect her husband is hiding something related to the building, she takes action to protect her family. Her resourcefulness and unexpected choices will add tension to the storyline.
A still image released from the drama shows Kim Sun sharing a happy moment with her family, but also hints at a growing sense of unease. The drama marks Im Soo-jung’s first television appearance since “Melancholia” in 2021, and her return is generating significant anticipation among viewers.
The series explores themes of financial hardship and family loyalty, resonating with current societal concerns about real estate and economic pressures.
