The director of the Social Security Institute announced an unprecedented national deployment to curb measles. For 12 continuous hours, hospitals, medical units, and sports facilities will open their doors for an intensive immunization day.
In an effort to protect public health against potential epidemiological outbreaks, the Director General of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), Zoé Robledo, confirmed through official channels a massive health mobilization this weekend.
Under the slogan “Together, vaccinated, we draw a line against measles”, the IMSS will activate a special operation this Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22, 2026. The goal is clear: to intensively administer the first dose or booster of the measles vaccine, ensuring the biological reaches the most vulnerable population in record time.

IMSS measles vaccination campaign: who should be vaccinated urgently
The campaign is designed with a prioritization approach based on demographics and location. According to the IMSS director, the strategy this weekend will focus on two key groups:
-
National Priority (Infant Population): The primary goal is girls and boys from 6 months to 12 years of age throughout the country, to receive their first dose or complete their schedule with the corresponding booster.
-
Adults in High-Risk Areas: In 11 priority states of the Republic, the campaign will extend to people from 13 to 49 years of age who do not have a complete vaccination schedule, have never been vaccinated, or simply do not remember if they received the dose in childhood.
IMSS vaccination this weekend: days, hours and locations
To avoid excuses of time or distance, the Social Security Institute has ordered the opening of multiple facilities beyond traditional clinics.
The campaign will operate on an uninterrupted schedule of 8:00 a.m. To 8:00 p.m. during both days. The enabled locations will include:
- General hospitals.
- Family Medicine Units (UMF).
- Social Security Centers.
- Sports centers.
- Public squares (identifiable with the official IMSS signage).
Robledo emphasized that the vaccine is free, safe, and universal, so it is not necessary to be a beneficiary of IMSS to receive protection at the installed modules.
To locate the nearest location to your home, the Ministry of Health has enabled the official portal: dondemevacuno.salud.gob.mx, where users can consult the interactive map of vaccination points.
