Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, has officially obtained Lebanese citizenship, according to multiple reports.
The move comes as Infantino’s mother is Lebanese, and the process was completed after fulfilling all necessary procedures. News outlets including سكاي نيوز عربية, FilGoal.com, and بوابة الشروق all confirmed the news.
The decision was reportedly made to facilitate his personal life, specifically for the sake of his wife, who is of Lebanese origin. Anadolu Ajansı reported that the process was completed recently.
Infantino was too granted Lebanese citizenship in order to facilitate the process, as reported by Al Akhbar.
