Influencer and fighter Mína died on Tuesday whereas on her way to training on the Thai island of Koh Samui. Fellow Czech influencer Samir Margina first reported the accident and the drama unfolding at a local hospital, where Mína was visiting him. According to previous reports, doctors attempted to revive Mína four times, but were ultimately unable to save her. Margina similarly emotionally criticized the level of care provided.
Blesk newspaper reported Saturday with testimony from an unnamed source familiar with the circumstances of the accident. “It was a risky maneuver in a turn. She apparently tried to overtake a slower vehicle, but a truck appeared in the oncoming lane,” the source said, adding that Mína allegedly did not have the appropriate driver’s license. The tragic news has resonated with fans and fellow creators across social media, highlighting the risks associated with influencer culture and travel.
Family Faced Potential Costs in the Thousands
The family could have faced significant expenses, potentially having to cover both hospital bills and the cost of repatriation. However, according to information obtained by Blesk, this will not be necessary. “We have decided to pay for the medical expenses and the repatriation itself. From our side, the case is closed,” Axa insurance representative Pavel Jechort told the newspaper, describing it as a “human decision in an extraordinarily tragic situation.” The costs are estimated to be in the lower six-figure range in Czech currency.
As previously reported, Mína’s friends launched an online fundraising campaign on the Znesnáze21 platform earlier in the week. As of Saturday evening, over three thousand donors had contributed 704,000 Czech crowns. According to Blesk, Mína’s family has decided to donate the funds to single mothers.
