Intel Core Series 2: Powering Industrial PCs & AI at the Edge | Embedded World 2026

Intel has officially launched its new Core Series 2 processors, designed to address the complex demands of industrial computing. Unveiled at Embedded World 2026, the chips – internally known as Bartlett Lake – aim to bridge the gap between raw computing power and the reliability required for real-time operations. This advancement is particularly crucial as industries increasingly rely on low-latency and consistent performance for critical processes.

The flagship of the new family is the Core 9 273PQE model. This processor integrates 12 high-performance P-cores and 24 threads, reaching a maximum frequency of up to 5.3 GHz. It too features 36 MB of cache memory and a 125W Thermal Design Power (TDP). The series as a whole offers a TDP range from 45W to 125W, allowing for flexible adaptation to different cooling systems and power requirements in security infrastructure, industrial control, and immediate data analysis applications.

Innovating at the Edge

The architecture of these processors, categorized as i9, i7, and i5, has been optimized to overcome the limitations of traditional multi-processor systems, eliminating the need for often more expensive solutions. By focusing on mission-critical workloads, Intel enables companies to execute complex tasks concurrently without sacrificing performance. This efficiency gain is vital for automated manufacturing and critical infrastructure management, where maintaining execution time integrity is paramount.

In direct comparisons, the Core Series 2 processors were benchmarked against the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X. According to the presented results, the new Intel chips offer up to 4.4 times lower PCIe latency and a 2.5 times faster deterministic response time. Overall performance is increased by 3.8 times, while multithreaded capabilities spot a 50% improvement. These metrics are crucial for minimizing errors that could lead to significant financial losses in the industrial sector.

The launch strategy centers on consolidating integrated platforms for the ‘edge’ – facilitating industrial computing and cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (IA) without increasing infrastructure costs. “Our primary goal is to comprehensively address the demands of this sector with hardware that guarantees AI acceleration, reliability, and high performance at the point of origin,” stated Dan Rodriguez, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Intel’s Edge Computing Group.

Expanding this ecosystem, Intel also confirmed the availability of the Intel Core Ultra Series 3, first showcased at CES 2026. This addition broadens the solution catalog to encompass both general processing and specialized applications in AI and real-time computing, positioning the technology as close as possible to the data source.

Advanced Solutions for Healthcare

At Embedded World 2026, Intel also unveiled its new AI Suite for Healthcare. This tool is designed for sophisticated patient monitoring, enabling hospitals to manage increased demand or staffing shortages. Its features include arrhythmia monitoring in electrocardiograms and anonymous 3D patient tracking.

All processing is performed locally on the Core Series 2 and Core Ultra Series 3 chips, ensuring privacy by avoiding data transmission to the cloud and enabling instant responses in medical emergencies.

The suite doesn’t just collect information; it transforms data from medical devices into actionable clinical insights through interconnected ecosystems. By facilitating real-time diagnostics, it optimizes the workflow of healthcare professionals, enabling faster and more accurate decision-making based on high-performance hardware that processes information where it’s generated.

Systems equipped with these new P-core technologies are now available for purchase globally. This paves the way for industries, medical centers, and other technical sectors to immediately implement solutions that prioritize stability and processing power in their daily operations.
