Intel Boosts Desktop Performance with Core Ultra 200S Plus Processors
Intel has unveiled its new Core Ultra 200S Plus series desktop processors, the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, promising significant performance gains for both creators and gamers. The launch represents Intel’s latest effort to compete in the high-performance desktop CPU market, an area where innovation continues to accelerate.
According to the company, the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus is Intel’s fastest desktop gaming processor ever. The new series delivers up to 2x performance for creators compared to competing processors. The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K/KF Plus feature more cores and up to a 900 MHz die-to-die frequency increase compared to the Core Ultra 7 265K/KF and Core Ultra 5 245K/KF.
Intel is also introducing the Intel Binary Optimization Tool, a first-of-its-kind binary translation layer optimization capability designed to improve native performance in select games. This technology aims to provide a smoother gaming experience and maximize the potential of the new processors.

The Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus series offers up to 15% faster gaming performance versus existing Core Ultra Series 2 desktop processors and up to 103% better multithread performance compared to competing CPUs. ASRock has confirmed full support for the new processors, ensuring compatibility for builders. GIGABYTE is also preparing support with new Z890 Plus Series motherboards that support both the Intel® Core™ Ultra 200S Plus processors and CQDIMM technology, as reported by Yahoo Finanzen Deutschland.
The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus is set to launch for $299, while the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus will be available for $199. The processors will be available starting March 26, 2026, as GadgetsNow reports.
