Good news for iPhone owners: the iOS 26.4 update is on the horizon! Apple has released iOS 26.4 RC, the final beta version before its public release, to ensure there are no remaining bugs. Unless unforeseen issues arise, it should be identical to the final version available to all users.

Keyboard Bug Resolved

This update includes a total of 13 improvements designed to enhance the user experience. A key fix addresses a bug with the iPhone’s keyboard. Numerous users have reported issues on social networks regarding frequent errors when typing quickly, with characters not always registering and causing typos and incorrect autocorrect suggestions. IOS 26.4 aims to deliver a more accurate and responsive keyboard experience.

Artificial Intelligence Enhancements in Apple Music

Apple Music is also receiving several updates. The app introduces a new feature called Playlist Playground, leveraging artificial intelligence to generate personalized playlists. Users can input a prompt – such as a mood or atmosphere – and the AI will automatically suggest a series of songs. These playlists can then be customized, and saved. However, this feature will not initially be available in Europe.

The Concerts feature will allow users to discover upcoming tour dates for artists in their library. Apple Music will also display new backgrounds that extend album artwork for a more immersive experience. Music recognition in the Control Center will now be able to function offline, identifying songs even without a network connection and displaying results once connectivity is restored. A new widget has been added to launch ambient playlists without opening the app, for activities like falling asleep or focusing.

New Emojis and Enhanced Accessibility

Apple has also added three new accessibility options. Subtitle and caption settings are now directly accessible from the icon on a video for easier access. Users can also reduce the brightness of button effects on the screen, as well as animations in the new Liquid Glass interface.

The update also brings eight new emojis: a ballet dancer, a melting face, a cloud with a strike, a yeti, a landslide, an orca, a paperclip, and a treasure chest. The Freeform app benefits from new advanced creation and editing tools, and also integrates a new library of premium content for Apple Creator Studio subscribers.

Family Sharing group members can now configure their own payment method, independent of the organizer. Finally, users can now mark reminders as urgent directly from the quick action bar.

iOS 26.4 RC, expected to be the final beta version, is already available to those enrolled in the Apple Beta program. The public release of iOS 26.4 is anticipated next week.
