Apple is reportedly considering a 200-megapixel camera with a 1/1.12-inch sensor for future iPhone models, according to information from Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station.
The camera module under consideration is reportedly the same solution used in the OPPO Discover X9 Ultra, Digital Chat Station added. This potential upgrade would position Apple to compete more directly with Android manufacturers in the high-resolution camera space.
The OPPO Find X9 Ultra is rumored to feature a 200-megapixel main camera utilizing the Sony LYTIA 901 sensor, which measures 1/1.12 inches, and also includes a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. Details about the OPPO Find X9 Ultra first surfaced earlier this month.
