TEHRAN – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed Sunday, March 1, 2026, to have launched four ballistic missiles at the U.S. Aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). The reported attack marks a significant escalation in tensions between Iran and the United States, as well as Israel, and comes amid a volatile security landscape in the Middle East.
The assertion was made in the seventh communiqué regarding “Operation True Promise 4,” released by the IRGC’s Public Relations Office and reported by Iran’s Tasnim news agency. The development underscores growing regional instability and raises concerns about potential further conflict.

“The American aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln was attacked with four ballistic missiles,” the IRGC stated, according to Türkiye Today.
“The powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s attack against the military forces of the enemy has entered a new phase, and land and sea will increasingly become the grave of terrorist aggressors,” the statement continued, as reported by The Economic Times.
As of this report, the claims of an attack have not been independently verified. Neither the Pentagon nor the U.S. Navy has issued a statement regarding the incident.
Separately, the Pentagon announced Sunday that three U.S. Military personnel were killed and five others seriously wounded in operations against Iran. The announcement did not specify the location or details of the engagements. These casualties mark the first reported U.S. Deaths since a large-scale strike against Iran on Saturday, February 28, 2026, reportedly targeting Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
