Iran Tensions Highlight Europe’s Limited Geopolitical Role
European leaders are increasingly concerned that U.S. President Donald Trump may take retaliatory action against European allies due to their reluctance to provide support for actions in the Middle East. A potential first step for Trump could be curtailing remaining U.S. Aid to Kyiv.
In an effort to avoid a complete breakdown in transatlantic relations, EU leaders hope that their offer of limited support for any actions against Tehran will be sufficient to persuade the U.S. Administration to remain at the negotiating table regarding Ukraine.
