Ali Larijani, head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, stated Saturday that Tehran will deliver an “unforgettable lesson” to the United States and Israel in response to the strikes against the country.

“We will make the Zionist criminals and the shameless Americans regret their actions,” the official said on X. “Iran will give an unforgettable lesson to international oppressors,” he added.

President Donald Trump said Saturday that reports of the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, are accurate.

The Israeli military affirmed that seven senior Iranian officials, including the head of the Revolutionary Guard, General Mohamad Pakpour, were killed in a series of strikes carried out with the United States in Iran on Saturday.

Among the dead are Ali Shamkhani, an advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Jamenei, and Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, Israeli military spokesperson Effie Defrin said on television, showing photographs of some of them. (afp/efe)

The Israeli government announced Saturday that it had closed the Rafah crossing and other crossings between the Gaza Strip and Egypt for “security” reasons, following the joint U.S.-Israeli strikes against Iran and Tehran’s retaliatory attacks.

“Rotations of humanitarian personnel are currently suspended,” the organization within the Israeli Defense Ministry responsible for Palestinian civilian affairs, COGAT, wrote on X.

The Rafah crossing, the only gateway to the outside world for the Palestinian territory, was reopened on February 2nd.

The United States urged “U.S. Citizens worldwide to exercise extreme caution” Saturday, following the attacks carried out jointly with Israel against Iran.

“Following the launch of U.S. Military operations in Iran, U.S. Citizens worldwide, and especially in the Middle East, should heed the guidance of the latest security alerts issued by the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate,” the State Department said on X.

“This decisive operation will continue for as long as necessary, and we must be patient,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised address, more than 12 hours after the offensive began, and following Tehran’s response with attacks against Israel and several countries in the region.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, may have died Saturday in the U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised address.

“This morning we destroyed in a surprise attack the complex of the tyrant Khamenei in the heart of Tehran,” the capital of Iran, and “You’ll see many indications that that tyrant is no longer alive,” he said. (afp/reuters)

The United States announced Saturday that “no U.S. Personnel have been injured or killed in combat” following Iran’s retaliatory strikes against U.S. And Israeli targets.

U.S. Forces have “successfully defended against hundreds of Iranian missiles and drones,” U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement on X. “Damage to U.S. Facilities has been minimal and has not affected operations,” it added.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen sent her “condolences” to the president of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed, following the attacks by Iran on Saturday. She assured him that “Europe stands in full solidarity with its partners throughout the region.”

“Europe strongly condemns these unjustified attacks,” von der Leyen said in a message on social media. The head of the executive branch called the attacks a “flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the United Arab Emirates and a clear violation of international law.”

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard confirmed Saturday that it launched attacks against U.S. Bases located in Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates in retaliation for the attacks by the United States and Israel, in addition to sending missiles against Israeli territory that flew over Jordan.

Iran’s Red Crescent said Saturday that it had recorded at least 201 deaths and 747 injuries in the attacks by Israel and the United States against the Islamic Republic.

“24 provinces of the country were affected and the Red Crescent is on alert,” the organization said in a statement published by the Isna news agency. This is the first overall balance released by Iranian official media.

The Israeli military stated that approximately 200 warplanes participated in a “large-scale attack” against military targets in Iran on Saturday, “the largest aerial military bombardment in the history of the air force,” the entity said in a statement.

“The fighter planes launched hundreds of munitions against approximately 500 targets, including air defense systems and missile launchers,” it detailed. (afp/efe)
