Iran has formally responded to a 15-point proposal from the United States, delivering its reply through intermediaries on the night of March 25, 2026, according to a source within Iran’s Tasnim News Agency. The exchange comes amid heightened global concern over regional stability and ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions.
The Iranian response reportedly sets several conditions for any potential agreement. These include a cessation of what Iran terms “terrorist-like attacks” by opposing forces, the establishment of “concrete conditions” to ensure conflict does not resume, a guaranteed and definitive resolution regarding war reparations, and a complete end to hostilities across all fronts – encompassing all resistance groups involved in the conflict throughout the region.
According to the source, Iran asserts its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz as a “natural and legal right,” and maintains that recognizing this right is essential for guaranteeing the enforceability of any commitments made by the opposing side. These demands, the source added, are separate from requests presented during a second round of negotiations in Geneva in February, prior to a military strike by the U.S. And Israel.
Iran views the U.S.’s stated willingness to negotiate with deep skepticism, characterizing it as a “third deception project.” The source alleges that the U.S. Aims to achieve three objectives under the guise of negotiation: “First, to deceive the world with an image of being peaceful and wanting an end to the war; second, to keep global oil prices low; and third, to gain time to prepare for a new aggressive action via a ground operation against southern Iran.”
The source further stated that even before a 12-day conflict, Iran harbored doubts about the sincerity of U.S. Negotiations and its commitment to any resulting agreements. “Since the 12-day war, Iran has been in complete doubt as to whether the Americans are genuinely willing to negotiate at any stage,” the source said. “The Americans initiated war although negotiations were underway both during the 12-day war and the Ramadan war; this time, they are trying to prepare the ground for a new crime under the cover of false negotiations.”
The development underscores growing regional tensions and the complexities of ongoing diplomatic efforts. The Iranian response could significantly influence the trajectory of future talks and the broader geopolitical landscape.
