Nearly two weeks after intense aerial strikes by the United States and Israel, the Iranian government remains largely stable, according to U.S. Intelligence assessments. The conflict has raised concerns about wider regional instability and the potential for escalation, prompting close monitoring from international observers.
Multiple reports conclude that the regime is not in imminent danger and maintains control over the population, one source stated.
The latest assessment was prepared several days ago and indicates that Iran’s clerical leadership remains cohesive despite the reported killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on February 28.
Israeli government officials have acknowledged in several discussions that there are no guarantees the conflict will conclude with the overthrow of the regime, according to a senior Israeli official.
However, sources emphasize that the situation on the ground is subject to rapid change. The U.S. Intelligence coordinating agencies and the CIA declined to comment. The White House did not respond to a request for comment.
Since the start of the conflict, the U.S. And Israel have targeted various locations within Iran, including air defense systems, nuclear facilities, and government members.
In addition to Ayatollah Khamenei, numerous high-ranking officials and commanders of the Revolutionary Guard have been reported killed. Intelligence reports indicate that the Revolutionary Guard and its latest leadership continue to maintain control of the country, despite these losses. This elite division controls a significant portion of Iran’s economy.
