Iranian Army Responds to Trump, Threatens Attacks on Regional Energy and Desalination Plants

The Iranian army warned Sunday it would strike infrastructure in the Gulf region after the U.S. President threatened to obliterate Iranian energy facilities if the Strait of Hormuz is not quickly reopened. The escalating rhetoric highlights the potential for conflict in a vital global energy corridor.

“If Iran’s fuel and energy infrastructure is violated by the enemy, all of the energy, information technology, and desalination infrastructure of the United States and the regime in the region will be targeted,” stated a spokesperson for the Iranian army’s operational command, Khatam Al Anbiya, in a statement released by the Fars news agency.
