Iranian military authorities announced Sunday, March 22, 2026, that the country will intensify its offensive strategy with the use of recent, advanced weaponry designed to “alter the enemy’s calculations,” while also asserting that the battle will continue decisively until the “surrender” of Israel and the United States.

“The Armed Forces, taking advantage of the capability of young, motivated and committed scientists, have produced and continue to produce advanced equipment and weapons that we will use to completely alter the enemy’s calculations,” said Commander of the Central Headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya, Major General Ali Abdollahi, according to the Fars news agency. Defense Ministry spokesperson, Major General Reza Talaeinik, further insisted that the Armed Forces will maintain an “uninterrupted combat path” until achieving “the complete detention and surrender of the enemy.”

Iran Threatens “Irreversible” Damage to Regional Infrastructure

The escalating conflict, now in its fourth week following joint strikes by the United States and Israel on February 28, has raised concerns about wider regional stability. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf stated on X that critical infrastructure and energy facilities in the Middle East could be “irreversibly destroyed” if Iranian power plants were attacked.

His remarks came after U.S. President Donald Trump warned that Iranian power plants would be targeted if the Strait of Hormuz was not opened “completely” within 48 hours. Qalibaf affirmed that regional infrastructure would develop into a “legitimate target” should Iranian facilities be attacked. The development underscores the potential for a significant escalation of the conflict and the broadening of targets beyond direct military installations. (efe, rtr)
