Iran’s armed forces threatened Wednesday, March 4, 2026, to attack Israeli embassies worldwide if Israel strikes Tehran’s mission in Lebanon, a military spokesperson said.
Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesperson for the Iranian army, stated on television that “if Israel commits this crime, it will force us to make Israeli embassies around the world a legitimate target.”
“Out of consideration for other nations, we have so far refrained from taking action against Israeli embassies,” Shekarchi declared. “If Israel attacks the Iranian embassy in Lebanon, we will undoubtedly attack all of its embassies.”
The threat comes amid escalating tensions in the region, raising concerns about a potential broadening of the conflict. On Tuesday, Avichay Adraee, a spokesperson for the Israeli army, warned that “representatives of the Iranian terrorist regime who are still in Lebanon” should depart “immediately before they are attacked,” giving them a 24-hour deadline.
The warning from Iran underscores the potential for retaliatory strikes extending beyond the immediate conflict zones. This development could further complicate diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation and prevent wider regional instability.
