Washington D.C. – The United States government has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the location of key leaders within Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including the country’s fresh Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s son, Mostafa Khamenei. The move, announced on March 13, 2026, comes as tensions remain high between the U.S. And Iran and underscores Washington’s continued focus on countering what it describes as Tehran’s destabilizing activities in the region.

The U.S. State Department’s “Rewards for Justice” program is offering the substantial reward for information on leaders of the IRGC and its subordinate elements. According to officials, the IRGC was designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization in April 2019, and its Quds Force was previously designated as a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist.”

Mostafa Khamenei is listed as the first target in the reward offering. Other individuals named include Asghar Hejazi, the Supreme Leader’s chief of staff; Yahya Rahim Safavi, a military advisor to the Supreme Leader; Ali Larijani, an advisor to the Supreme Leader and secretary of the Supreme National Security Council; Eskandar Momeni, the Minister of Interior; and Esmail Khatib, the Minister of Intelligence and Security. The program is also seeking information on individuals holding positions such as the Secretary-General of the Defense Committee, advisors to the Supreme Leader, the head of the Supreme Leader’s military office, and commanders within the IRGC.

“These individuals are responsible for commanding and controlling various elements of the IRGC, which plan, organize, and execute terrorist attacks worldwide,” the State Department stated. “The IRGC, a component of Iran’s regular armed forces, plays a central role in Iran’s use of terrorism as a key tool of its national policy.”

The announcement follows reports that Mostafa Khamenei may have been injured in recent strikes. U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin indicated on March 13, 2026, that the new Supreme Leader’s appearance may have been affected by the attacks, stating he “likely” sustained injuries. According to early reports, Austin suggested Khamenei is “hiding” and “scrambling” in response to the situation.

officials have suggested further action against Iran is imminent. Reports indicate that the Trump administration is preparing a “very strong” response next week. The development underscores growing regional tensions and could influence future diplomatic talks.

The U.S. Has also offered a reward of up to 149.8 million Korean won (approximately $15 million USD) for information on the IRGC leaders, as reported by Yonhap News Agency. The announcement signals a continued commitment to holding Iran accountable for its actions and disrupting its support for terrorism.
