At Least 60 Injured in Arad Following Iranian Missile Strikes

More than sixty people have been injured this evening after another Iranian missile struck southern Israel, according to Israeli rescue services. The attacks mark a significant escalation in regional tensions and reach amid heightened global concern over the conflict.

Following an initial missile strike on Dimona – a city housing a strategic nuclear research center in the Negev desert – which injured at least 59 people, another missile landed in the city of Arad, approximately 25 kilometers to the northeast, police reported.

Initial assessments from rescue services indicated around thirty injuries, while early images from local media show extensive damage in a residential area of Arad.

In a separate strike earlier in the evening on the nearby town of Dimona, at least 40 people were injured, according to CBS News. Israel’s military said it was not able to intercept the Iranian missiles that hit both cities.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that Israel’s military would continue its war efforts in the Middle East. “What we have is a very difficult evening in the campaign for our future,” Netanyahu said in a statement posted to social media, adding that he had spoken to the mayor of Arad and conveyed “our prayers for the peace of the injured.”

“We are determined to continue to strike our enemies on all fronts,” Netanyahu wrote. “It’s becoming increasingly clear that the Iranian regime is resorting to reckless attacks that only further expose its instability and disregard for human life while strategically targeting civilians,” he added.

The strikes on Arad and Dimona came hours after Iran’s Natanz nuclear enrichment facility was hit in an airstrike, for which Israel’s military has denied responsibility, according to reports. Magen David Adom teams are continuing to search the debris for more casualties.
