Israel’s military announced Thursday, March 12, 2026, that it struck a facility inside Iran, alleging it was being used to develop nuclear weapons. The strike marks a significant escalation in tensions between the two countries.

“The Israeli Air Force, acting on precise intelligence from the Armed Forces, struck another facility within Iran’s nuclear program,” the military stated. “The Taleqan complex was being used by the regime to advance critical capabilities aimed at the development of nuclear weapons.”

The Taleqan complex is believed to refer to a site at Parchin, southeast of Tehran. According to the American think tank, the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS), which monitors Iran’s nuclear program, the Islamic Republic has recently conducted covert military activities at the location. The development underscores growing regional instability and concerns over Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
