The controversy began with a TikTok post from user @saturdeps, who shared their recent experience visiting Nasi Kulit Mak Igun, a culinary venture co-owned by Gunawan and King Abdi.
In the video, the vlogger noted the restaurant appeared unusually empty. The content creator, who has 4,000 followers, originally posted the video on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

In the video, the vlogger expressed surprise at the restaurant’s quiet atmosphere. “They say Here’s the most viral nasi kulit, but now it’s empty,” they stated.
A follow-up video showed the still-empty restaurant, with the caption, “I don’t grasp why Nasi Kulit Mak Igun is this empty, and this is the quietest Nasi Kulit Mak Igun.”
The video quickly gained traction online, prompting responses from both restaurant owners and other social media users.
Gunawan voiced his disappointment with the narrative, suggesting it could harm the business.
“If someone’s business is slow, we should support them, we employ a lot of people, don’t shut it down. Everyone has their own way to get famous, hello,” Gunawan wrote in a comment.
2. Reactions from Anwar BAB and Other Viewers
Actor Anwar BAB questioned the timing and location of the video’s recording. “Could you come around noon to afternoon? I’d like to know what time it was so empty, and where exactly was this filmed? Let me know,” he commented.
Many viewers also felt the vlogger’s content could create a negative impression.
“If you’re making a video, don’t cause a stir, explain things. What time was it like this? Don’t just make videos like this,” one commenter wrote.

Beyond the atmosphere, the vlogger also described an issue with their order. They had intended to order Cumi Oseng Kecombrang (squid stir-fry with kecombrang flower), but received Ayam Oseng Kecombrang (chicken stir-fry with kecombrang flower) instead.
Despite the mix-up, the vlogger praised the crispy and flavorful fried chicken skin and the tender meat in the nasi daging (rice with meat) dish. “I also really like the beans, because they’re still crunchy and fresh,” they said.
However, they were less impressed with the Ayam Oseng Kecombrang. “Honestly, I think this is just okay, the kecombrang flavor is also very subtle, so it’s like a regular chicken stir-fry,” they added.

King Abdi, Gunawan’s business partner, responded via Instagram account @kingabdi_jajanmercon on Monday, February 24, 2026.
He explained that the vlogger’s visit occurred in the morning, while the restaurant was still preparing for the day’s operations.
“They came at 10 a.m. On Wednesday and the next day was a fasting day, and they came when the restaurant was preparing. And let’s just see what this person wants,” King Abdi wrote.
“But from this person’s video, it seems like they want to gain popularity by tearing down other people’s businesses,” he continued.
He also addressed the claim about the incorrect order, stating that the order slip clearly showed Ayam Oseng Kecombrang, matching what was served.
“They said there was a mistake on our end with the squid kecombrang order, but they received chicken kecombrang. But their order was actually chicken kecombrang, but my team is being falsely accused,” he said.
The vlogger’s payment receipt, which was also shared, confirmed the order for Ayam Oseng Kecombrang.

In response to the controversy, food vlogger @saturdeps issued a clarification via their TikTok account.
They admitted to a miscommunication during the ordering process and apologized for the misunderstanding.
“Regarding the review video of Nasi Kulit Mak Igun, I want to clarify one thing. At that time, I intended to order squid stir-fry with kecombrang flower. However, what was served was chicken stir-fry with kecombrang flower.”
They believed a miscommunication occurred and acknowledged they hadn’t double-checked the order at the time.
“If this causes a misunderstanding, I apologize. Hopefully, things will get better in the future. Thank you for your attention and understanding.”
