Jack Osbourne Names Daughter After Late Father Ozzy Osbourne

Jack Osbourne and his wife, Aree, have welcomed a daughter named Ozzy Matilda Osbourne, a touching tribute to the late rock icon and Jack’s father, Ozzy Osbourne.

The couple announced the birth on social media, sharing a photo of the newborn alongside a plush bat toy – a nod to Ozzy Osbourne’s infamous 1982 on-stage moment when he bit the head off a bat during a concert, believing it to be a rubber prop.

Ozzy Osbourne passed away in July 2025, just 17 days after performing a farewell concert with Black Sabbath, his groundbreaking heavy metal group. The loss resonated deeply within the music world and beyond.

Tributes to the singer have continued throughout the awards season. At the Grammy Awards, a supergroup featuring Post Malone, Andrew Watt, Chad Smith, Duff McKagan, and Slash performed Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs,” although Sharon, Jack, and Kelly Osbourne watched from the audience. The performance underscored Osbourne’s lasting influence on generations of musicians.

The Brit Awards too featured a moving tribute, with Robbie Williams performing Osbourne’s solo hit “No More Tears,” backed by Metallica’s Robert Trujillo and Zakk Wylde, a longtime Ozzy guitarist. Sharon and Kelly Osbourne introduced the performance with a heartfelt spoken tribute.

“He was authentic, gifted, totally unpredictable, a wild man, a true artist … he was the most humble egomaniac you could ever meet,” Sharon Osbourne said during the tribute.

The Osbourne family first gained widespread recognition with the reality TV show The Osbournes, which offered an intimate look at their often-chaotic but ultimately loving family life, with Ozzy frequently appearing bemused by the events around him. The show became a cultural phenomenon, paving the way for a new era of reality television.

Kelly Osbourne forged her own path in the music industry, achieving three UK Top 10 singles, including a No. 1 duet with her father, a reimagining of Black Sabbath’s ballad “Changes.”

Jack Osbourne continued to appear in reality television, hosting five series of Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie and co-starring with his father in three seasons of the travelogue Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour. He also produced a 2011 documentary about his father, God Bless Ozzy Osbourne.

In November 2025, Jack Osbourne was a contestant on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, finishing in sixth place.
