Indonesian tennis star Janice Tjen has surged to a career-high ranking of No. 36 in the world, according to the latest WTA rankings released this week.
The significant jump in Tjen’s ranking comes after a strong showing at the Dubai Championships, where she reached the round of 16. Janice Tjen climbed 10 spots to reach No. 36.
Tjen has accumulated 1341 points, tying her with Sara Bejlek at No. 37.

Tjen’s chances of further improving her position remain promising, as she is only narrowly behind Jaqueline Cristian, who holds the No. 33 ranking with 1367 points.
Alexandra Eala of the Philippines likewise experienced a significant ranking increase, climbing 16 positions to No. 31.
Eala has overtaken Janice Tjen in the WTA rankings this week.
Following appearances in the Qatar and Dubai Championships, Janice Tjen will compete in the Merida Open. The Merida Open is a WTA 500 category tournament.
The tournament will provide Tjen with another opportunity to earn points and climb the WTA rankings. The Merida Open begins today, Monday, February 23.
