Actor Jānis Jarāns celebrates his golden wedding anniversary at an elite Egyptian resort, marking a half-century of marriage with a romantic getaway. To honor the milestone, Jarāns surprised his wife, Dagnija, with a trip to the Red Sea in Egypt. The celebration was timed for February 14—Valentine’s Day—serving as a heartfelt tribute to their enduring partnership. The couple’s journey began on February 14, 1976, when they first wed. In anticipation of their 50th anniversary, the pair recently revisited their wedding album, rediscovering the photographs from their original ceremony five decades ago. When reflecting on the secret to their long-lasting union, the couple credits their ability to compromise with one another. This personal milestone comes during a productive professional stretch for Jarāns. The actor recently took on the role of a colorful businessman in the French comedy “Ak, šis nevainīgais blefs!”, directed by Herberts Laukšteins. Despite a demanding perform schedule, Jarāns emphasized the importance of balancing his career with his private life and his passion for travel. The couple currently manages a split living arrangement. While Jarāns resides in a Riga apartment to stay close to his work, Dagnija spends her time at their home in Engure. This seaside property was inherited from Dagnija’s parents, and she has resided there since concluding her professional career at the National Library of Latvia.
