Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Former amateur standout Reto Tsushima continues to impress in his early professional career, notching his fourth victory – adn third by knockout – this past weekend. The 23-year-old Japanese fighter is quickly gaining attention in the super featherweight division after a dominant performance against Mexico’s Leobardo Quintana Sanchez on Saturday. Tsushima’s transition to the professional ranks follows a celebrated amateur career, including a gold medal win at the 2021 World Amateur Boxing Championships.

Reto Tsushima, the 2021 World Amateur Boxing Championship gold medalist, is quickly becoming a name to watch after turning professional in May.

The 23-year-old Japanese fighter faced off against Mexico’s Leobardo Quintana Sanchez in a super featherweight bout on Saturday, December 27th, at the Mohammed Abdou Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Tsushima dominated the fight, scoring a decisive victory over Sanchez in the fourth round. The referee stopped the contest after a flurry of powerful punches from the Japanese boxer.

This win improves Tsushima’s professional record to 4-0, with three of those victories coming by way of knockout. He’s now demonstrating the power and precision that made him a standout in the amateur ranks. Quintana Sanchez, meanwhile, suffered his first professional defeat after 14 fights.
