Jennifer Runyon, best known for her role in the iconic 1984 film “Ghostbusters,” has died at the age of 65 following a battle with cancer. The news has prompted an outpouring of grief from fellow actors and fans alike, remembering Runyon for her talent and warm personality.

Close friend and actress Erin Murphy, known for her operate on “Bewitched,” shared the news on social media, stating, “So sad to share that my friend Jennifer Runyon Cormann passed away after a short battle with cancer.” She continued, “With some people you just know you’ll be friends, even before you meet them. She was a special woman. I’m going to miss you, Jen.”

A family statement confirmed Runyon passed away on Friday evening, surrounded by loved ones, after a “long and difficult journey.” The statement, shared online, read, “This was a long and difficult journey which ended surrounded by her family.” It continued, “She will always be remembered for her love of life and devotion to her family and friends. I know she is looking down on all of us with her beautiful smile. Rest in peace, our Jen.”

Runyon also appeared in the sitcom “Charles in Charge.” Her daughter, Bailey Cormann, also an actress with credits in “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and “Jane the Virgin,” paid tribute to her mother with a heartfelt post on Instagram, accompanied by photos and videos. “All the best parts of me come from you. I would give anything for one more day with you,” she wrote. Cormann also shared a photo of her mother in a hospital bed with her two dogs, adding, “I wasn’t ready for this….”
