Jiri Procházka quickly became the focus of speculation regarding his next opponent immediately following his victory over Khalil Rountree Jr. A trilogy bout with Alex Pereira was a possibility, despite Procházka’s 0-2 record against him, but Magomed Ankalaev, Khamzat Chimaev, and Carlos Ulberg were also potential contenders, especially with rumors swirling that Pereira might move up to the heavyweight division. After a period of anticipation, the UFC has finally announced the details.

Procházka, reportedly unaware of his ultimate opponent, relocated his training camp to Mexico as final negotiations took place. Now, it’s official: “BJP” will return to action on April 11, 2026, at UFC 327 in Miami – a tight timeline considering Procházka and his partner are expecting a daughter in mid-April, but he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to fight for the title.

The opponent? While Ulberg, Ankalaev, and Chimaev were all discussed, it will be Carlos Ulberg who steps into the Octagon with Procházka. Ulberg brings a nine-fight win streak into the bout, most recently defeating Kennedy Nzechukwu. This will be by far the biggest test of his career, as he’s primarily faced opponents outside the division’s elite, with a previous fight against former champion Jan Błachowicz being his most notable contest.

Kdo bude novým šampionem polo-těžké váhy? (hlasování skončí 11.04.2026 v 22:00)

The biggest news of all is that the fight will be for the undisputed light heavyweight title, vacated by Pereira as he prepares to move to the heavyweight division.
