Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung attended the JIS Ramadan Fest 2026 at Jakarta International Stadium in North Jakarta on Sunday, March 1, 2026. He emphasized the stadium’s accessibility to the public despite its international-level status.

During the event, Pramono greeted attendees and toured booths showcasing local small and medium-sized enterprises. He also observed a program offering subsidized basic necessities.

“I specifically want to commend JakPro for organizing this event,” Pramono said in his remarks at JIS. “It demonstrates that this international-class stadium maintains a close connection with the surrounding community.”

Pramono noted that JIS is a strategically located venue for numerous events and anticipates increased activity at the stadium in the future.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I believe the future of Jakarta is, in part, here at this location,” he explained. “Why do I believe this? Because we are currently preparing to connect JIS with Ancol.”

The governor added that current challenges with JIS center around traffic congestion, particularly during large events. Infrastructure development is underway to address these issues.

“Especially when Persija plays or there’s a concert, people experience incredible traffic congestion here,” he said. “I’ve decided to connect JIS with Ancol. People can park at Ancol for any event, and Ancol has parking for 10,000 cars.”

Pramono expressed confidence that the addition of a commuter rail station at JIS will further increase activity at the venue. He wants Jakarta residents to be able to fully utilize the stadium’s facilities.

“as a stadium with such grandeur, I truly want this place to also be felt as a sports facility for the community in North Jakarta,” he stated.

“I have repeatedly told the Director to make facilities, such as a jogging track, available for residents of North Jakarta to exercise, just as people utilize GBK for sports. And I checked myself some time ago, and the community’s enthusiasm here is extraordinary,” he added.
