Jokowi Questioned by Police Over Alleged Diploma Forgery

Former Indonesian President Joko Widodo was questioned by police in Solo on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, regarding a defamation complaint he filed concerning allegations of a forged diploma. The inquiry comes as authorities continue to investigate claims made against Widodo.

According to reports, Widodo arrived at the Solo Police headquarters around 3:55 p.m. Local time, accompanied by his attorney, Yakub Hasibuan. He departed the station at approximately 6:50 p.m.

“There was additional questioning,” Widodo told reporters at the Solo Police headquarters. “For details and explanations, please refer to my attorney, who can provide a more thorough account.”

Widodo’s lawyer, Yakub Hasibuan, explained that the former president’s appearance was in response to a request from investigators who are currently conducting examinations in both Solo and Yogyakarta.

Hasibuan stated that Widodo answered approximately ten questions during the two-and-a-half-hour session.

“There were around 10 questions, with quite a bit of follow-up, lasting about 2.5 hours. We arrived at 4:00 p.m., and there were many sub-questions within those ten,” Hasibuan said.
