A couple was taken into custody Thursday afternoon in connection with the death of a child, estimated to be between one and two years old, whose body was discovered abandoned in a sack on March 10th in an area of Ciudad Juárez known as “Los Kilómetros.”
The arrest follows an operation conducted by investigators with the Fiscalía Zona Norte in the Kilómetro 27 neighborhood. The case underscores the ongoing challenges faced by authorities in investigating crimes against vulnerable populations.
Authorities say the pair are believed to be the parents of the child. They were located at a residence on Coyote Street, near the Carretera a Casas Grandes, where they had reportedly been hiding.
Following their arrest, the couple was transported to the Fiscalía de Distrito Zona Norte headquarters. Officials expect to release further details about the case in the coming hours. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
